Boone County man assaulted, threatened female because she was going to 'expose' him

The woman told deputies he punched her in the face and continued to assault her for hours.

She said Steinhauer dragged her through the house by her hair, sat on her chest, and put his forearm against her neck to restrict her breathing.

Stunning blue-eyed 'Peach Bowl Girl' bewitches social media. She's a Cincinnati area student

'Peach Bowl Girl' has been identified as Xavier University lacrosse player Catherine Gurd, 19, after a video of the blue eyed teen watching the game intently went viral on social media.

She appeared on television for only a few moments during the Peach Bowl when Georgia Bulldogs faced off with Ohio State on New Year's Day, but it was all it took to launch her into internet fandom.

Damar Hamlin had to be resuscitated TWICE - but is now 'trending upwards in a positive way'

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin had to be resuscitated twice after collapsing on the field during Monday night's game with the Bengals.

'His heart had went out so they had to resuscitate him twice.'

"They resuscitated him on the field before they brought him to the hospital and then they resuscitated him a second time when they got him to the hospital,' Hamlin's uncle Dorrian Glenn told CNN.

Suspected Boone County shooter now in police custody; 16 year old girl murdered

Boone County Sheriff Michael A. Helmig reports an overnight shooting on Silver Brook Drive in Burlington that took the life of a 16 year old, Scarlett Tucker.

The suspect, Demarkus F. Hedges later turned himself into authorities. Hedges will be charged with murder.

Second person dies from NKY boat fire

A second person is dead following a boat fire on Dec. 30 in Northern Kentucky, according to the Hamilton County Coroner's Office.

The second victim, a man, died on New Year's Day, the coroner wrote in their report.

Neither person killed in the boat fire has been identified, the coroner's report show.

    Schools south of here closed due to heavy rains, flooding

    Heavy rain and severe weather have led school officials to cancel classes in Scott County on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

    The district notified students and parents early Tuesday morning that school was cancelled, citing "flooded roads and rising water across the county."

    Quite a nasty story closed bar in Covington is alleging

    Bourbon Haus 1841 bar in Main Strasse says it has closed and is blaming others for it.

    "Unfortunately, we were forced to close due to a series of malicious occurrences," says owner Dave Brumfield.

    He says the next door business "terrorized us for the next 12 months." Then, some kind of issue with purchasing the property from the current landlord.

    Claims the City of Covington would not renew its license because it did not have a lease due to a lawsuit and says the state was OK with a renewal.

    Century-old Ebert Meats in Newport closing for good; also with landlord issues

    Ebert Meats in throwing in the towel and is closing Saturday.

    "The costs of the move just proved to be too much, and the building owner (Steven Rayburn) has no intention of extending our lease any further," the store posted.

    Nearly a third of US adults (31 percent) follow local news very closely, but local news does not play an equally vital role for all Americans.

    Kentucky expands state sales tax requirement; McDaniel says it's a lot to digest

    Lawmakers then decided to incorporate dozens of different new services into the state's existing 6 per cent sales tax.

    Some of those industries now taxed include rideshares like Uber or Lyft, parking services, recreational sports, rental space for weddings and more.

    Senate Budget Chair Sen. Chris McDaniel (R-Kenton County) said he understands it's a lot to digest, but the expansion of sales tax is designed to help lower Kentucky's income taxes.
