Kathrine Nero after 20 years at the station

Long-time Channel 9 anchor Kathrine Nero has been fired at WCPO after 20 years on the area.

Nero announced her dismissal on Facebook.

"This is not how I expected it to end. After 20 years here, 15 of them waking up early to bring you the news, I am now unexpectedly looking for work," she posted on Facebook.

"I hope that you know how much I've enjoyed my job, spending my mornings with you. Now, I'll be sleeping in and sharing that morning coffee with my family. They have no idea what they're in for!"

WCPO has not given a reason for her dismissal.
