Bicyclist killed in Hebron identified; search for driver continues
Bicylist Allen Williams, 48, of Hebron, was struck and killed by a driver who did not stop
The bicyclist has been identified as Allen Williams, 48, of Hebron but, as yet, the Boone County Sheriff's Office has been unable to locate any family.
"We did make contact with a significant other but now are asking anybody who knows him to provide us any information that could aid us locating next of kin," says the Sheriff's Office.
"Anyone with information or potential witnesses is being asked to contact Lt. Chris Hall or Deputy Mike Parsons of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit at 859-334-2175."
On Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 6:47 a.m. Boone County Sheriff Deputies were notified by a passing motorist of an injured male found lying in a grassy area adjacent to the intersection of North Bend Road (KY 237) and Northside Drive in Hebron, Kentucky.
Responding Deputies arrived a short time later and confirmed the male was in fact deceased. The investigation quickly revealed the deceased male had been struck from the rear while riding his bicycle northbound on North Bend Road just prior to Northside Drive.
At this time the investigation is being classified as a fatal hit and run due to the hit vehicle not stopping nor reporting the incident.
